Anant Jog.

Anant Jog’s spiritual journey began unremarkably enough with a school prize in 8th grade — a collection of a young yogi’s lectures addressed to the youth. Though the words were simple and vigorous, they appeared to come from ‘another world’ whose language the young Anant had no idea about. That incomprehensible book planted a seed of deep dissatisfaction, an inexplicable emptiness that would become the great driving force of his entire life.

Through adolescence and into adulthood, that inner emptiness drove Anant through intense, all-consuming immersions across domains — classical vocal and instrumental music, literature, history, civilisations. Each domain was entered with total surrender and then left without the least sediment of attachment, as a new calling would take over.

Then began a vigorous study of works of Vedic Rshis, Yogis, Mystics and Saints. The clarity on the exact difference and confluence of Philosophy and Spirituality started emerging.

After reaching the very limit of what mind and intellect alone can grasp, he realized that the further understanding is only possible through the direct instruction of a Living Guru. The search for one such intensified through further incisive study and receiving direct guidance from the Universe.

While working in a corporate firm in the US he decided to answer his inner call. He moved to India, and the Universe once again answered mystically. He met his Guru, who introduced him to the Disciplines required to discover non-duality in every manifestation.

For twelve long and arduous years, Anant remained under the tutelage of his master, undergoing various Practices. Through this crucible of practice, all the deep dissatisfaction and inner emptiness that had driven his life was completely transformed and dissolved into pure seeking — firm and clear, unidirectional and certain.

The Fictitious I is the distillation of Anant’s twelve years of intense life experience and his incessant desire to experience the divine. It is not a philosophy or theory but the fruit of purely rational analysis, observation and practice. It presents, in day-to-day language free from spiritual jargon, a completely self-reliant method for every human being to question their own fictitiousness and step onto the path of evolution.
